Club Sections

The Worcestershire offers many programs and events for Men, Ladies, Seniors and Juniors.

Mixed golf offers a busy programme with matches against other clubs in the summer and once a fortnight in the winter there is a mixed competition, supported typically by 80 members.

 Men's Section

The men’s golf programme at The Worcestershire offers something for everyone.  With over half the total membership, men’s golf forms a major part of life at the Club.

We have a busy schedule of competitions and during the summer we have 3 weekend competitions per month plus a Wednesday competition every other week.

Entry for these competitions runs at around 150 for weekend competitions and 50 – 60 for Wednesday medals and Stablefords, so there is plenty of opportunity to improve your handicap.

Men’s competitions are organised by the Competitions and Handicap Committee with the aid of the Pro Shop staff for payment of entry fees and issue of score cards.

As is commonplace now, we have a Player Score Input computer to enable players to check their handicaps at any time and to enter competition scores.

For those who seek a friendly game, there are plenty of “roll-ups” each day where you
simply turn up and draw for partners.

The Club also runs a number of different teams.  The A team is generally quite serious and the ability range is from scratch to about 12 handicap.  The B and C teams are more social as is the Club team.

All teams play a series of matches against local clubs, enjoy the opportunity to play other courses, and to host visitors on our course.

 Ladies Section

The ladies section at The Worcestershire prides itself on it's vibrant and friendly reputation. We have 140 members, most of which take part in the numerous competitions run throughout the year. Handicaps range from 6 to 36 with the silver division continuing to expand.

For the not so competitive golfer there are friendly matches arranged against neighbouring clubs throughout the summer along with “cut-throat” annual games against the seniors and the ever popular lady captains day out where new members are encouraged to mingle and make new friends.

During the winter months, weather permitting, there are regular twelve hole friendly competitions with players drawn in teams of varying handicaps to ensure a friendly competitive element.

For those who work, an alternative system is in place giving all the business ladies the chance to take part in the competitions all year round. The lower handicap player is also well catered for with the club a regular competitor in the Droitwich League, an inter-club event where players play off their handicaps.

The club has also enjoyed considerable success in the Scratch League, a tough competition involving clubs from several counties. Promoted in successive seasons, they have their sights set on eventually securing a place in the prestigious Division One.
In 2004 the club completed an unprecedented double winning the Herefordshire and Worcestershire county clubs gross and scratch titles.

In both winter and summer there are a range of knock-out competitions and throughout the summer a host of cups and monthly medals for players to enter. And there are also several forms of Open competitions which generally attract full fields.

 Senior's Section

The Club has a very active Seniors Section which all gentlemen are welcome to join when they reach the age of 60.  In addition to all the Club events and competitions, the Seniors have their own programme of competitions and matches and meet throughout the week for both competitive and social golf.
