CAPTAIN’S REPORT AFTER 4 MONTHS

Firsty I would like to thank all members who have supported our Social Events. Four have now taken place and I would like to think that everybody enjoyed the evenings.

Since the very wet beginnings of late March and early April the weather has improved greatly and all events have taken place. With the better weather we have seen enormous improvements on the course.

Some notable events have taken place:

April 27th   Worcestershire PGA Alliance - Won by the Worcestershire team.

May 23rd    The Open Mixed Greensome - Won by Paul and Di  Meakin

June 20th    Club Championship   -  Won by Peter Lupino
The Schweppes Cup  -  Won by Nick  Smith
The Deerhurst Cup     -  Won by Dave Turner

June 25th     Captain's Charity Day   -   Total raised over £4500.00

Thanks to everyone who entered a team, sponsored a hole, donated a prize and made a donation.
We had a great day!

June 26th     The EWGA Grand Final
We were selected to host this prestigous event and received many
compliments. Lady Captain Di Widle and all the helpers did a great
job and enhanced our clubs reputation.

June 27th      The De Vere Open - Won by Paul Bellamy & John Pilgrim

July 9th, 10th & 11th  Captain's Weekend.
All three days took place in wonderful weather, with nearly two hundred  players taking part.

                        Captain's Day was very sucessful.

Well done to all of the winners and thank you to all those who took part.

The Malvern Bowl 2010
A group of 34 going to Chester Valley. There will be 19 men contesting for the Malvern Bowl and 7 ladies playing for the Mavern Lady.
We know that we are going to have a great time and hope the weather is not too hot.

There will be a break from social activities during the holiday period , hoping to start again in September.

On the Charity Day and the  Captain's Day I received a great deal of help from the Ladies Section for which i am most grateful. The ladies did a great job with the raffle, the tombola and in the drinks tent. Thankyou all very much.

I know that it is early in the year to thank the staff, but i would particulary like to thank both Terry Smith and Sarah Burston for all the help that they have given me. I couldn't have wished for more!

Enjoy your summer!!
